Orb's Bookshop, Huntly

Orb's Bookshop opened in the spring of 2001. We sell a general range of books, second-hand and new, and we can order all books in print in the UK. We also sell and exchange National Book Tokens.

Among our new books we have a good selection of local authors' work and books of broader Scottish interest. A speciality is the works of the novelist and poet George MacDonald (1824–1905), who was born in Huntly. His titles are available in new and used editions.

Our opening hours are
9:15 to 5 weekdays (closed 1–2 for lunch)
9:15 to 4 Saturday
Closed Sunday.

How to find us

If approaching Huntly from the north (A96 or B9022), you enter the town via Deveron Road. This is the Tesco junction on the A96. Deveron Road becomes Deveron Street, and we are located on the left on the corner of Chapel Street. If approaching from the A96 roundabout, you reach the town centre via Gordon Street and you can then park in the Square (for a free car park, continue straight through the Square and look out for the right off Castle Street, next to the police station). From the Square, walk down Deveron Street (between Cruickshank's store and the phone box); we are on the right five doors past the Strathdeveron Bar.
